What is included

One workbook, four useful jobs

The workbook is deliberately simpler than a full amortization model. It helps you organize a plan and track what actually happened; the online calculator handles payoff projections and strategy comparisons.

Debt inventory

Enter each balance, APR, and minimum payment in one place.

Snowball + avalanche order

See balance-first and APR-first priority rankings side by side.

Monthly progress tracker

Record your actual remaining debt each month and see how much you have eliminated.

Payoff dashboard

Turn monthly check-ins into a simple visual of your remaining debt and progress.

How to use the debt snowball spreadsheet

  1. 1
List every debt. Enter a name, current balance, APR, and required minimum payment.
  2. 2
Review the priority columns. Snowball ranks the smallest balance first; Avalanche ranks the highest APR first.
  3. 3
Choose a strategy using the calculator. Compare estimated payoff time and interest using the same monthly budget.
  4. 4
Check in monthly. Enter your real combined balance on the Progress Tracker and watch the dashboard update.

Excel and Google Sheets compatibility

The download is an Excel .xlsx file. In Microsoft Excel, open it normally. In Google Sheets, upload the file to Google Drive and open it with Google Sheets, or use File → Import from an existing Sheet.

Spreadsheet applications can calculate or render some formulas and charts differently. Keep the original file as a backup when importing it into another application.

Important: This workbook is a planning and tracking aid, not a lender statement or financial advice. Interest timing, fees, changing minimum payments, promotional rates, and lender rules can make actual balances differ from a simple tracker. Confirm payment requirements with each creditor.
